Twenty-first century architecture must be about sustainability. This isn't a moralistic stance; it's simply what achitecture must be." —Renzo Piano

In it's second year, Design Green is a competition to honor Southern California projects that integrate exceptional design with new high performance standards for sustainability, LEED certified for their effectiveness, while redefining the architectural landscape. This year's jury convened in the New York City offices of SOM and included multidisciplinary professionals with diverse perspectives on sustainability.
This year's winners featured six Southern California projects with innovative design and effective sustainable solutions. The Awards were added to the AIA Los Angeles Design Awards presentation for the first time, and USGBC/LA Gala for the second year. We are grateful to both AIA/LA and USGBC/LA for including Design Green as part of their programs. We also extend special thanks to InterfaceFLOR for a post Awards Reception and our Design Green sponsors whose support make this Design Green possible.
